Multilingual music, character and performance
Music is one of the places where language, structure and character meet in my work. Opera, satire, multilingual wordplay and the dance floor belong to the same listening life, even when the resulting pieces occupy different registers.
The character of the piece
A musical idea can begin with a voice, a phrase, a situation or a dramatic attitude. The question is what the piece needs in order to become itself. Register and genre follow that character rather than acting as a fixed boundary around the work.
Language changes more than the literal meaning of a line. Sound, stress, rhythm and the way a thought turns can all become compositional material. That makes multilingual writing an artistic choice as well as a means of addressing different listeners.
Writing, arrangement and production
My process brings writing, arrangement, performance direction and AI-assisted production into the same authored work. The production tool is part of the process; the selection of material, its dramatic intent and the decisions about the finished piece remain central.
The visual studio belongs to this world too. Costume, posture, setting and an editorial image can establish a character before a listener hears a note. The image shown here is synthetic editorial work, rather than a documentary performance photograph.
